Hanif-Khan's Castaway Books
|
|
My first castaway book would have to be Monster Eyeballs
by Jacqueline Wilson because when I first had a grape when my
grandma gave me one I thought it was jelly with skin on it and
something similar happens in the story Mark thinks the
grapes are Monster Eyeballs. So this book will remind me of my
grandma because now she's dead.
My second book is a Famous Five story Five on Treasure
Island by Enid Blyton. I have to take this book with me because
it's the first Enid Blyton book I'd read after my brother told
me that Enid Blyton has good stories and now I've read nearly
all the Enid Blyton books twice and that was the first.
My third book has to be The Granny Project by Anne Fine.
I have to take this book with me because I cannot go anywhere
without it, this is because it is the first book I got from the
library and was able to read on my own, which was when I was seven.
My fourth book is going to be Madame Doubtfire again by
Anne Fine because it reminds me of my little brother putting on
my trousers and t-shirt and acting as if he was a girl and the
same happens in Madame Doubtfire.
My fifth book has to be A Dog of my Own by Alan Brown because
I love dogs and I've always wanted one of my own but I haven't
got one but I have got a poochi and I treat him like a real dog
and not like he's electronic.
My sixth book is Video Rose by Jacqueline Wilson because
I'm just like Rose - I love watching videos and recently my video
broke down the same way and my sister kept re-winding the film.
So obviously Video Rose would cheer me up if I was feeling down.
My seventh has to be The Goalie's Secret by Paul Shipton
because I love football and the thing I like most is being in
goal and when I looked at the title of the book I was sure that
there was a secret about goalkeeping but there wasn't one little
tip apart from 'always practise'. I really regret reading that
book again, but it will comfort me in the middle of nowhere.
Finally my eighth book is Sam the Girl Detective in the Cash
Box Caper by Tony Bradman. This is because I've always wanted
to solve a mystery but I've never been successful, so I'm glad
that is at least a story of a girl who has solved a mystery.
