My eight books would be . . .
Harry Potter and the goblet of fire by
J K Rowling.
The reason being would be that it is a thick book so I could take
my time on it and it is a story you can re-read as many times
and find out something new that you missed out on the last read.
I would also take it because I love Harry Potter stories and found
that one the best!
Vicky Angel by Jacqueline Wilson
I would take this one as when I read it, I found it quite emotional
and cried all the way through it. I would take it so I could have
a good old cry, when my eyes want to cry but I don't have a reason.
Goodnight Mister Tom by Michelle Magorian
I love reading this book as I enjoy books from the 2nd world war
period. It always has an effect on me. I feel as though I'm part
of the story as I read what the characters say and do. I have
feelings towards Tom and Will. I then hate Williams mother.
It is so real to me in parts.
Northern Lights by Philip Pullman
I thought that this adventurous book was thrilling. Rarely if
ever readers are offered such a rich casket of wonders in a book.
It is quite shocking and fantasy.
The Subtle Knife by Philip Pullman
This book I also enjoyed and got involved with the characters.
With a lot of war, blood and guts I would most likely read this
when I feel in a bad mood and in the spirit for war!
Bagthorpes Abroad by Helen Cresswell
This book was one that I found hilarious and read thoroughly from
front to back several times still laughing at the funny parts.
This is one book that achieves it and I would read it when I needed
cheering up. Helen Cresswell has a mind of a magician in her creativity
of writing good books for children.
Number the Stars by Lois Lowry
I found this book a sad book which happens to also be about the
war. I think it is a simple, but effective tale. I could read
this a million times and still be intrigued to start it again.
(The Famous Five) Five on a Treasure Island by Enid Blyton
This thrilling book takes you through an adventure with some children
aged between 9 and 13. With their courage and bravery a challenge
is always accepted. I went along with the adventure, thinking
up what I would have done if I were there.
All these books are good and I think they're certainly the 8 that
I would have.
